I know it's possible to unlink video and audio, but it doesn't solve the problem. When right-click on a single clip (after unlinking, it is only audio track of a clip) in the timeline and choosing Properties, there is File Path which points to the original movie file. I'd like to change the file path so that it points to my new audio asset file.

LEGEND , Jan 24, 2023. Currently, Premiere Pro adds audio tracks to a sequence whenever a file with more audio tracks than the sequence contains is opened in the Source Monitor. So, say I have a sequence with four audio tracks. If I open a clip in the Source Monitor that has 8, four more tracks are automatically added to the Sequence.
Razor Tool. The Razor tool does what it says; it splices one clip into two. Select the tool (Press C on your keyboard) and click on a clip in the timeline where you wish to make a cut. You can now treat them as two separate clips. You will most likely be using the Razor tool to delete a section of your footage.
